Our Thunder Storm Turned Into a Hurricane

Well, our thunderstorm has turned into a hurricane! I noticed Monday night that my left breast was extremely sore and really red. So Tuesday morning I woke up and I had a bit of a fever and it was really swollen so Gabe and I went to the emergency room and I have a breast infection and the infection was starting to get into my blood. So they admitted me into the hospital and started me on some serious antibiotics and it's clearing up nicely.

That being said I haven't see the girls all freaking week! I'm going stir crazy sitting here all day knowing my babies need me. Gabe's had to take it easy since his appendectomy so he hasn't gone to see them everyday but tried to go at least every two days.

I've called a countless number of times (I'm thinking upwards of 200 calls) and the girls seem to be doing well. Addisyn's apnea settled down again Wednesday so that's a sigh of relief. Savannah's been doing amazing all week!!! The doctor said that probably by the end next week I might be able to hold her!!! EEEEEEEK! Let me just have a moment . . . . . . . and I'm good. Addisyn might be a while still before we can hold her because she's still sensitive to sounds so we'll work on that for a while more then work with touching.

Not a song today but a quote that says millions to me right now:

We may not have it all together but together we have it all.

6 WEEKS?!?

HOLY CRAP!! Has it really been 6 weeks since the girls were born?

Just a short update this morning going to see the girls shortly. Gabe came home Thursday evening from the hospital and is feeling great! My brothers still healing a little slower then normal the doctors say but still healing. Savannah's doing great and getting stronger and stronger everyday. Addisyn's breathing is still acting up but she's still doing better then she was last weekend.

Anyway gotta go jump in the shower and go see my girlies!

When It Rains It Pours!

Well what they say is true! When it rains it pours!

It all started with my brother's car accident last Wednesday. He's recovering well but they may have to push the wedding date back a bit so they're thinking maybe late September just so they don't risk him not being fully healed and not being able to walk down the aisle.

Then on Friday Savannah contracted an infection from one of the IV lines. So Friday night into Saturday was one of the hardest nights in the past few weeks. I had flash backs to the night Olivia past away. I cried for hours thinking there was no way she was going to make it through this one. But she did! She fought off the infection with some help from the antibiotics. She'll still be on the antibiotics for a while but she's getting stronger!

Then Addisyn's breathing started acting up again and she needed assistance the whole day Sunday and most of Monday then again a bit on Tuesday. And as a result her heart rate was pretty low the whole 3 days.
All through the day Tuesday Gabe kept complaining about this pain in his lower left side. I thought it's probably something he's eaten. Well on Wednesday morning (probably about 1 or 2 am I'm not sure) he said the pain was unbearable so I drove him to the hospital. It turned out to be appendicitis and he needed his appendix out. So by 9 o'clock Wednesday morning he was in surgery. He's recovering well and should be home later today with orders to just take it easy.

And through all of this my sister and her kids have come down with horrendous colds. So I've been trying to avoid getting to close to them and risk me getting sick, that's really the last thing I need right now!

Song of the day is Stand by Rascal Flatts. I heard this song coming home from the hospital Monday night and balled my eyes out listening to the lyrics. I had to pull over because I thought I was going to crash. It's everything I've felt the passed almost 6 weeks.

Anniversary, Two Weeks and My Brother

I'm feeling better. Well as best as I can. The past couple days have been really up and down for me. It was Gabe and I's anniversary yesterday so we decided to just take a day off from everything and just be us again. We spent the whole day together and just talked. We went out for dinner and went to see a movie just like we did before all this craziness.

It's been two weeks since Olivia passed. I'm dealing with it better. The hospital hooked me up with a grief consular and that has helped a ton. Addisyn and Savannah are doing amazing! They took out Addisyn's umbilical cord line today as she will not be needing daily blood tests anymore. We haven't been able to touch her since last week but she opened her eyes at her daddy today! We're thinking Addie might be a daddy's girl and Savannah (who we've now been calling Anna thanks to my 3 year old niece who has been tripping over the name Savannah since they were born) will probably be a mommy's girl.

Yesterday at 8 pm we got a call that my brother was in a car accident. He's 26 and engaged. He was hit by a drunk driver coming home from his fiance's house. He broke both his legs, snapped his arm in 3 different places and shattered his pelvis. The drunk driver who hit him walked away from the scene completely unhurt. He's in stable but critical condition and they're pretty sure he's going to make it but will take a while to recover. Please pray he makes a speedy recovery as seeing his wedding is planned for May 7th!
